Rich kid from a broken home, adopting the grunge aesthetic, playing the grunge rock, but still eats Sunday roast off Mama's golden plates every weekend.
First impressions
Visual
Lanky-looking guy with bleached, white hair and striking eyes. Looks like he just came out from a three month entrapment in his mother's basement, which is probably closer to the truth that anyone wants to know. Cigarette in his mouth, guitar in his hands, painted fingernails, a lot of bare chest. Alternative rock looks like that.
Aural
Light, hoarse voice, could be called girly but isn't, can fake a falsetto that makes the girls scream.
Fashion
Lots of black, long-sleeved t-shirts for basics with tartan shirts on top, leather jackets, black jeans (ripped) and a collection of sneakers that outmatches any girl's shoe selection. Jewellery like necklaces and rings. Eyeshadow and eyeliner for days.
HISTORY
Second child and oldest son (with an older sister, Arietta) of an influential judge at the European Court of Justice and a trophy wife, stay-at-home mom whom his dad regularly cheated on when he was out travelling, it was expected of Remy Xavier, later taking the name Reese for himself, that he too would study law and represent the family name in high society.
However, in fifth grade someone had the brilliant idea of putting a guitar between the hands of the maladjusted pre-teen who just wanted to listen to something else than his parents fighting, his mother screaming and throwing plates at the wall, his father threatening to leave her penniless and then actually leaving for days on end, no words as to where, and Reese fell instantly in love with the sound of the instrument. The growl that you can't ignore.
He started taking guitar lessons, he started playing in garage bands and he made a name for himself in the alternative rock scene in Luxembourg. By the time when he was 16, he had played warm-up gigs for relatively big national names and rock bands in France, too.
His father, in the meantime, would have none of it. If his son was really going to be a musician, he better be a proper, educated one. So, he presented Reese with an ultimatum, either you study music at the conservatory or you don't get a cent from your parents anymore. Make a career of it or scram. Under much protest, but still doing as he was told, Reese enrolled at the conservatory and hated every second he spent there, although he learned as much as he could from his new vocal studies, eventually dropping out a year later, thus losing all privileges from his family, just shy of being disowned.
What Reese did, then, was to prove his father wrong.
The next two years, he relocated to and lived in London and got connected in the alternative rock scene there, playing with several big-name local bands and performing solo for the first time. That was where he was discovered by a small label who scouted him at a grunge club and they signed him to make a solo album, his own lyrics, his own music. A year later, it hit the streets and for an alternative rock debutant, it did really well. He became a sensation in some rock circles and started playing bigger venues, got an online presence, suddenly had fans...
And at age 24, he took all that with him back as he relocated to Luxembourg, showing it all off to his dad who had to eat his words. Reese scrammed, he made a career and now, he's back, better than all of them.
